PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Art Smash was a celebration of visual art in public spaces in one of Vancouver's most iconic destinations, Granville Island.

For this project we curated and produced 9 murals and a street party, transforming The Chain and Forge parking lot into a vibrant outdoor art gallery and outdoor party venue. Located in the centre of Granville Island, these large-scale artworks are free and accessible for everyone to view and enjoy. Our full day street party event was a great success with a continuous stream of music by local DJs, local craft breweries, food trucks, performances, and interactive fun for all-ages.

“We think it will give a lot of opportunity for people to come down and celebrate the art and celebrate a new space on Granville Island that they can just enjoy and relax.”

-Scott Fraser, marketing and communications officer at Granville Island,
