Vancouver Mural Festival (VMF) is organized by Create Vancouver Society, a Registered Non-Profit dedicated to artistic and cultural development in the Lower Mainland. Through the creation of permanent large-scale public murals, we provide a platform for Vancouver's diverse art scene to contribute to the city’s cultural legacy for years to come. Our annual festival takes place for a week in August in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, and we work throughout the year with neighbourhoods around the Lower Mainland to highlight the local culture and vibrance of their area

As a local grassroots non-profit, we sincerely value the support of our sponsors and endeavour to build long-term partnerships with organizations that share our values. We have a wide range of opportunities from booths and street level activations to mural sponsorships and presenting partnerships.
To enhance the VMF experience for our city, our residents and our visitors, we are seeking a highly motivated partnership sales and service professional to join our team. The successful independent contractor will be a team player, accountable for partnership revenue generation activities. They will uphold strong partnership relationships while ensuring sales expectations are continuously exceeded. In addition to revenue driving responsibilities, successful candidates will bring exceptional energy, creativity, experience and leadership to the growth and development of VMF, supporting the strategic development and alignment of existing and new business.
This flexible ongoing contract position works remotely with the availability and ability to attend in-person meetings at VMF’s collaborative work space. The hours and days of work will vary. The position will initially require approximately 15-30 hours per week and increase to full-time hours leading up to and during the festival window (June through August). The selected contractor is free to manage other client projects/obligations during this time.
Acquire new partners and renew existing partnership agreements to fulfill VMF’s revenue and profit objectives
Collaborate with the VMF Leadership team to to identify partnership assets and opportunities
Develop partnership sales plan strategies for, and carry-out, business development to build an existing partnership program including prospecting, cold calls, relationship building and servicing of key partners
Lead ideation and discovery sessions
Uncover prospect needs, concepts and solution requirements
Develop and prepare sales packages, proposals, and opportunities for partners
Lead sales discussions, proposals and negotiations with prospective and renewing partners at the senior management level
Develop, maintain and nurture superb working relationships with existing and new partners to ensure high levels of satisfaction through exceptional service delivery while achieving revenue goals
Active participation in the promotion of partners the marketplace
Lead and manage the day-to-day relationship with existing and new partners
Ensure all partnership benefits and activations are properly coordinated and recognized
Attend VMF and other community events as a partner liaison and ambassador for VMF
Administration / Management
In consultation with the Executive Director and Director of Operations, provide expertise and perform analysis necessary to contribute to the development of annual budgets, revenue goals and strategic plans
Manage contracts and post-sales administration
Regular reporting of sales progress updates to VMF Leadership Team – developing any relevant meeting materials, sales activity reports and forecast of progress towards annual revenue goals
Maintain prospect lists, sales data and all sales materials
Authentically represent VMF, advocating and promoting networking opportunities to increase the VMF partnership family
Participate in any required team meetings
Travel as required
Other duties may be assigned as required
5+ years’ experience in a B2B key account or partnership sales role - experience within sponsorship, marketing, fundraising and/or events preferred
A degree or diploma from a recognized institution – business, marketing or communications degree preferred
Be an independent contractor, providing all equipment (including laptop and mobile device) required for performance
A proven collaborative networker with the ability to interface successfully with individuals at all levels in business, stakeholder groups, government and the general public
Exceptional relationship management skills
Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Well-versed in Google Docs
Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
Not-for-Profit Fundraising, Sales Promotion, Experiential Marketing, Consumer Engagement experience an asset
Strong ability to effectively share ideas, courageously take initiative and approach problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude
A keen eye for detail, a passion for exceeding expectations and a desire for providing “value-added” service
Experience working or volunteering in the arts or entertainment industry is an asset
Fluency in English required
